A recovery record,
not a cultivar claim.

This is a different plant from the archived ‘Dente’ specimen: an unregistered nursery-form Dionaea muscipula from a downtown Salt Lake City plant shop. It went directly under supplemental light and onto distilled water, with new central leaves visibly extending before new traps had formed.

The older retail-grown leaves remain part of the visual record, but the center is active: multiple new leaves are upright, enlarging, and emerging from a stable crown. The record stays at species level because no cultivar provenance accompanied the plant.

Growth point

The crown remains firm and active, with upright new leaves separating from the older retail-grown foliage.

Light placement

The compact LED was installed immediately, keeping the recovering plant directly beneath the strongest usable portion of the fixture.
